Katharine Day is the principal market lead for ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓAPP’s public sector transportation business where she focuses on program management, client delivery, and business development. She has 18 years of professional experience in program management, business development, analytics, organizational design and strategy, information technology requirements analysis, risk management, operations, infrastructure, capital planning, program reviews and audits, and asset management for both public and private sector institutions.
Katharine leads a large team committed to delivering consulting services to the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Transportation where her team primarily supports three transformational programs: NextGen (the modernization of America’s air transportation system); oversight to federal rail and transit investments; and intelligent transportation systems, including transportation research and automation. Prior to her work in the transportation sector, Katharine led projects and teams in other areas within ÓÐÁϺÐ×ÓAPP’s civil business, guiding advanced analytics, technology, and consulting services for a broad range of clients in areas such as infrastructure and the environment.
Her career began on Wall Street working for JP Morgan Chase as an analyst researching and running strategic projects, including regional growth plans, client wealth planning tools, and quarterly business reports. Following her work on Wall Street, Katharine completed her master’s in public administration (M.P.A.). From there as a consultant to the National Park Service, she developed a comprehensive business plan to improve a park’s financial management and decision-making capabilities.Â
Katharine earned her bachelor’s in finance and marketing from Boston College and her M.P.A. from Columbia University.
